Do you know of clients who suffer with reoccurring back problems or tightness across the shoulders or hips?
Do they secretly look in the mirror and think, ‘Pull your shoulders back’ or ‘I really need to stand up straighter’?
Well that is the case for many of us and it is heightened when we neglect our spine by allowing our posture to deteriorate and our spine to become less mobile.
So what happens next? They hobble off to the Doctors, Osteopath, Physiotherapist, Chiropractor or Sports Injury Specialist get fixed and more often than not, this specialists suggests your client attends a Pilates class to strengthen their Core stability muscles and improve their posture.
Does your client accept their suggestion? In my experience YES, they take the advise of their trusted health professional and seek out a Pilates class to attend.
Will that class be yours? Are you qualified to teach Pilates?
Pilates is an industry that is growing rapidly as more and more people become aware of the benefits of Pilates, how effective it is in creating a more poised and positive posture and they make it part of their life style.
I personally have many, many Pilates clients still attending classes with me 8 years on!
Pilates has progressed over the years and it is now considered pretty essential that we strengthen our core muscles in a functional way, in other words in a way that mimics the movements we use in our normal activities of living.
If balance work and movements in and out of neutral spine are not incorporated greatly into the Pilates classes your clients attend, they may still find themselves with the same reoccurring back issues.
We at INFITNESS TRAINING are so passionate about Pilates, we share our wealth of knowledge with our Students, not only to teach YOU how to teach Pilates but to understand the What and the How!
For example the many questions I get asked on every course are:
What happens if someone attends my class suffering from Osteoporosis, Rheumatoid or Osteoarthritis, Hip or knee replacements, Spinal Stenosis and many more spinal, joint, musculature and postural conditions?
How will I know what modifications or adaptations to offer them?
What if I do not know about their condition?
How can I feel confident in delivering a class to many people with many different needs?
How can I get referrals to my class?
How can I market myself?
We are highly educated in conditions of the spine and posture alignment. We thrive on delivering functionally based exercises. We have a wealth of experience in teaching classes at our own Studio in Somerset, retaining 95% of our members. We know how and where to market and how to gain referrals… We are different and we can help!
